Impermanence + Acceptance Mala

Meditation beads made with 18 Howlite stone skull beads and 90 round Howlite beads hand strung on waxed cotton thread. Mala measures approximately 35” around.

Howlite promotes calmness, peace, deep reflection, and tranquility. It helps you grow spiritually by placing you in a position of calm acceptance and quieting your spirit. It also allows you to deepen your meditative state and balance and activate your crown chakra. On top of that, Howlite promotes self-reflection, free from narcissism or negativity. It allows you to look deeply at your personal truth and gives you the courage to make adjustments where needed. It is often used to regulate the temper and is useful in promoting better self-tolerance and acceptance.

*Skulls, a traditional representation of death in Tibet, were incorporated by Buddhists into malas to represent the impermanence of life and the limits of human knowledge, beckoning for reflection upon the inevitability of death and the necessity of embracing lives filled with compassion. Their imagery symbolizes that we do not know if tomorrow is guaranteed – and so it is important to live the best we can every day of our lives. The use of skulls is meant to have the meditator reflect on death and impermanence; to know that death is a fact and the closer that we can relate to death and embrace it, the sooner we can start living with love and compassion and realizing that in this cyclic existence death will come when it is time.
